Did you know that winter is the perfect time to get your skin cancer check? With less sun exposure and fewer social commitments, winter offers an ideal opportunity to prioritise your skin health before the summer rush begins. Certain treatments for skin lesions are also better tolerated during cooler months, making it the perfect time to book in. At Clarity Medical, we currently have good availability for skin checks, so there’s no need to wait.
I’m pleased to now be offering skin cancer checks at Clarity Medical, including the ability to take full body images for ongoing monitoring if needed. Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in Australia, and early detection is vital in reducing risk and improving outcomes. Regular skin checks are an important part of preventive care, especially if you have a personal or family history of skin cancer, fair skin, or spend a lot of time outdoors.
My passion for providing skin cancer services stems from my own personal experience—when I needed a skin check, I struggled to find a female doctor offering this service locally. For some women, this can be a real barrier to accessing care. I understand how vulnerable a skin check can feel, and I’m pleased to be able to offer patients the choice of a female practitioner in a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.
At Clarity Medical, we’ve created a space that’s warm, private, and designed with your comfort in mind. Breast and genital checks are always optional, and any photography is discussed thoroughly beforehand. If you’ve been putting off your skin check, let this be your gentle nudge. I’ll do my best to make the experience as relaxed and comfortable as possible while giving you peace of mind about your skin health.
