October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This month, we’re joining the global conversation about breast cancer awareness. It’s a reminder to take the time to check in on your breast health and encourage the people around you to do the same.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting people with breasts, and while it’s often thought of as a women’s health issue, it’s important to remember that anyone with breast tissue can be affected. Early detection makes all the difference.

Regular self-checks, staying alert to any changes, and keeping up to date with your mammogram or screening schedule can help detect issues early and improve outcomes.

Your doctors have put together a short video to highlight the importance of early detection and to remind everyone that you’re never alone when it comes to your health. If you notice something that doesn’t feel right, a lump, pain, skin change, or anything unusual don’t wait. Book an appointment with your GP or your local breast screening service for peace of mind.

This month, we think about those who have been touched by breast cancer, including those currently undergoing treatment, those in remission, survivors, and the loved ones who have supported them along the way. Your strength, courage, and resilience continue to inspire us.

Early detection saves lives. This October, take a moment to look after yourself, remind your friends, family, colleagues, anyone with breasts, to do the same, and help us keep the conversation going. Awareness is the first step toward prevention and empowerment.
